Aboriginal cultural sites

Recent discoveries of further Scar Trees and earth oven mounds have enhanced our understanding of pre-European culture on Savernake. ‘New’ sites continue to amaze us, and we combine with professionals, local Koori elders and field officers, and Landcare officers to determine the significance of our discoveries. An Aboriginal ‘Village’ is currently undergoing professional research by a PhD team from University of Queensland.

We contribute to Koori youth education and field workshops through our sites, and those nearby our property. Conservation of these sites and artifacts remains a priority, with ongoing preservation projects.
